Gotta say I think this was the best one out of all the 3 books.I thought the hard choices that Robin found herself making, & her experiences before coming full circle, were done quite well. I felt for her. I understood her.
But at the same time, after awhile, I felt that there came a time where she really just needed to let things go where Amberly was concerned. I felt her window to do so was missed though. It really didn't make sense for her to revert back to her anger after making her choice through thought & action, of where she wanted the future to lead. She accepted the fact that when it came to certain things concerning her & Amberly, that they would never be close. That they would never really be able to call each other friends. That's fine. It made sense. So why revert back to a place that represents that you never worked through your anger/issues with what occurred then? Especially when we are already shown that you have or are on your way to doing so? I didn't get that. And that kinda threw me off here.
Also didn't like Robin's POV of the beginning of the Epilogue. Most of what she said was repetitive. Things that were already clearly stated before hand. It kinda felt like we were reading the draft to the beginning of another book. Like it was a summary of sorts to refresh the reader's memory of what had already occurred. Since it's in the ending of the book, I think that seriously needs to be re-edited or revamped. So that the flow of the story isn't lost.
But all in all this was a good read. Heart breaking in moments. Uplifting in others. It seemed that the lives of everyone here was summed up quite well. Their friends as well themselves. Especially Jason. His accomplishments & blessings. I was happy to see how things turned out for him. For them both. Individually as well as collectively.
It ended on the kind of note that says they're in a good place leading into the next chapter of their lives. So I'm surprised to see there will be a book 4 sometime this year. The ending just didn't leave me with the impression that there could be anything more or new about these two to learn, that would come off as new & authentic. But maybe more contrived & pointless. But we shall see. I hope Ms. Pace can end this one on a good note. I honestly thought it ended on a good note here.
I would recommend this read/series. Please read in order. It's a series with an on going plot.
*Note* This book does not end on a cliff hanger.

Wheels of Steel Book 3 edition by Pepper Pace HoZ Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
First and foremost, this is a 3 part series and I highly recommend reading all three parts before reviewing. Ms. Pepper's has done an extrodinary job of keeping everything real and truthfull in regards to relationships and the unexpected reality of disabilities seen and unseen. Patty, Tramp Stamp, Top, Link and the female lead blew the roof off of any other interracial romances and friendships that I have read. You will laugh, cry and get down right angry at times but their is an element of truth that we all can relate to from the time of being in our twenties whether going to college or not. I loved that it was so imperfect as we all are. I learned alot about a disability that I have a working knowledge of from being in the medical field. I can't express how touched and awed I am about how unobservant we can be about those around us in passing on a daily basis. I can say I am definitely more aware of others even if they do not have an outward disability. All deformities are not visible and can only be seen by our true loves heart. It is not a matter of time but being open to the ups and downs of love, friendship and parenting.
I really enjoyed all of the story even when I totally disagreed with each of the characters choices. It is a lesson of acceptance and understanding that choices are made in the heat of the moment and the long term consequences can hit and devistate not long after the follow through of decision that cannot be undone. Be open to the experience of learning something about those with physical disabilities, about yourself, and preconceived notions that may be changed for the better.
Massive praise for the entire 3 part series. You will fall in love and walk that fine line of love and hate just like we do in real relationships. Be prepared to have your eys opened.
Before anyone gets the wrong idea I didn't give this book a 3 because it was not good. No, It was a good book and I should probably give it a 4, but I don't think it is a 4.
Just like book 1 and 2 I was hooked from the first words and I actually stayed up to finish it. My Problem with this book is unlike the first 2 books this one felt rushed. I don't know if there will be a 4th book(which would be great) or if the book truly ends here....what I do know is that there are some unresolved issues. The only part of the book that I didn't feel rushed is the part where Robin and her mother is on vacation.
1) Robin forgives Jason, Peter, and Belinda way too easy.
2) Jason grows up a bit in this book and I think that has to do with losing Robin and getting his surgery. I think we still need to see as a more mature individual(coming full circle).
3) Robin still has unresolved issues that can't be explained away in a few pages. No, the book centers around both her and Jason's issues. While Jason's issues is being resolved gradually Robin's feel rushed.
4) I think Jason should have had to grovel a bit before Robin took him back. Like I said before, if it wasn't for his CP he would be your typical alpha male. In fact, I would love to see him get jealous because of the attention Robin receives from other men. It would even play great into the "new Robin."
5) Both Jason and Robin need to talk and work out the issue of them being with other people. It's not explained enough for me about Jason and his feelings for Amberly. He almost cheated on Robin with Ameberly and I think they need to work through that a bit. I feel the same way about Robin and her encounter with Shawn from her vacation. Jason see's a change in her and I don't think it will just go away.
I was disappointed with what Robin did, but I completely understand why she reacted the way she did. If anything I'm more upset at Jason because he hurt her more than anyone else, especially when she was there for him through everything and supported him. He was such a jerk and the one time that she needed him to be understanding about the situation with her mother he wasn't.
I would love to actually see some interaction between Jason, his dad and Robin too. The fact that he is able to let go of his anger and forgive people shows how he is taking a more mature outlook on life. I also liked that Jason knew he would get back Robin...I think his confidence there was great. This is part of the reason why I don't think Robin should have given in so easy. He should have to work and win her back and I think he would have done it too.
So I didn't give this book a 3 because it wasn't good. I gave this book a 3 because it felt rushed. If there is going to be a 4th book I think this one could have been better with working out some issues and explaining certain things that could have extended to a 4th book without a problem. Either way, Pepper Pace is an amazing author!
